We would like to thank anyone and everyone who helped make Freekuency 2010 a complete success. Wowzers it were wicked. Everyone was pleased with how it all went. Obviously there were a few problems but there were no major nightmares to report, (other than the fact that someone stole a generator from the Dragon Fest Crew); and the problems we had we are trying to smooth out for next year. So anyone who has any opinions of how things could have run more smoothly, please feel free to write and let us know. From what we hear, the locals from Fronteira were happy with the event that took place, with many local businesses reporting a busy week, and they are more than up for us to return next year. We are looking for a different site in the same area for next year, as we feel the festival is going to get bigger over the next few years, and being on the side of a hill isn’t ideal. We will keep you updated on our progress over the next few months.

We would like to send out a massive big-up, shout out, total respect and many thanks to the following for all their help and support in making this years event totally brilliant. They are -

Phatt Soundz for the Funky Beats stage, Punishment, Irritant, Forbidden, B.P.L.& Funk Audio for the main dance floor,Izi Soundsystem and Stevie Tea for the Happy Hangout area (who would like to thank Happydemia, Riot Productions, Beatmac, Crew Hassan dj’s and EDP, Dermostetica dj’s, Antonio Montoya Strip Music, Dirty Sanches, Ze Ze and all their friends who helped);No System for the circus tent, the Kids Zone and an amazing fire show,The Tossers crew,Spiritual Mythology/CJ Soundsystem for the
Psy-Trance zone (who would like to thank Fernando, Otiram (Moon Bat Ac) and all the crew from Madhause Records, Filipe Pysnkro (Klan_Destino) and his crew for the use of the tent, Jumbly Mama for his decor, China, Sophie and Lee, Ross and Lynsey, Anita and Kat and all their other friends who helped); all the dj’s and bands who played; Jamie for his amazing sculptures situated around the site,Rob and Sophia for finding the site, sorting out the water and getting the license; Chloe – for the bands.Subway (Dave, James and Steve) for the Bands Stage;Lux for their cafe and show; The Dragon Fest Crew;Truffles and Kooks for their projections; Pink Crowbar for their show ;
Roman for his cinema set-up in the Kids Zone (many a parent eternally grateful for that!); Cheggars and Jay Terrestrial;Coswekandoitc for artwork and t-shirts; AA Chris, Billy, Action Steve piper for stage-building prowess and general help, Sian and Daz for some oustanding cafe and bar work; Philo and Toz; Jade for her amazing bar debut; Digital Doodles for website design and DJ Dribble; Colin with the silver tooth (dj birthday boy) Clara Belle, Gaz and the rest of the stewarding massive for some top effort and donation collecting; Baz for his painting skills; Dan for his flame-thrower efforts (can’t wait for next year) Evil C for the use of his lights; Tiso and, last but not least, his dad for letting us use his land.Thanks also to everyone who respected our wishes to keep dogs on leads or chained up. We know its not particularly nice or practical, but after sheep being killed last year and farmers threatening to shoot any loose dogs this year, we didnt want to take the risk of someone finding out their dog had been shot. No sheep were killed this year, you’ll be glad to hear. So thanks to everyone who did it, and to those who didnt, you were lucky, but one day you might not be. Its your
choice. You can’t say you haven’t been warned. A very big thanks to everyone who helped pick up rubbish before leaving site. The site was left spotless. Too many of you to name, but you know who you are. And lastly, thanks to all of you who came. We have had nothing but positive feedback since it finished. We were very lucky with the weather and everyone we’ve spoken to had a great time. We look forward to seeing many of you again next year.

We do have some sad news to relate i’m afraid. Stevie Tea, who was part of the Happy Hangout area, died a few days after the festival. We want to send our condolences to his family and to all his friends, (of which there are many.) He will be sorely missed and remembered fondly by everyone who knew him, and as Num said, “He was a true gentleman, who died full of plans and dreams. He was totally happy and he was doing what he loved doing.” Can’t say fairer than that. Bye Stevie
